As a litigation associate, Laurel Brown leverages her award-winning writing skills and exceptional work ethic to deliver superior results for her clients.

Laurel joined Corr Cronin after serving as a law clerk for Justice Charles Johnson of the Washington State Supreme Court. Her significant legal experience also includes working as a graduate research assistant on IP, human rights, and international law issues; serving as a legal intern for the Washington State Bar Association’s Office of Disciplinary Counsel; and conducting legal research and drafting contracts as an intern for Aviation Technical Services. Laurel previously worked for five years as a professional writer for online and print publications and wrote, directed, and produced a children’s web series.

An accomplished student, Laurel graduated in the top three percent of her class at Seattle University School of Law, where she received numerous scholarships, earned CALI Awards in Legal Writing I and II for achieving the highest grades, was part of the Alpha Sigma Nu Honor Society, and served as Note and Comment Lead Editor for the Seattle University Law Review.

Prior to attending law school, Laurel earned both her Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Arts in History of Science and Middle Eastern Studies from Columbia University, where she received the History of Science Reingold Graduate Student Writing Prize and was awarded teaching, foreign language, and faculty fellowships.

After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Astronomy-Physics, magna cum laude, from Colgate University, Laurel was a secondary school teacher with the U.S. Peace Corps in Mlalo, Tanzania.

In her spare time, Laurel enjoys traveling, kayaking, and walking her small, fluffy mutt named Molly. She is conversational in Swahili and French and knows basic Arabic, Persian, and German.
