Mr. May's practice focuses on complex civil litigation.  His areas of emphasis include commercial contracts, class action defense, insurance coverage, employment law and toxic torts.

Representative Cases

  • Harrrington v. Alaska Airlines – Defense of airline against putative class action alleging breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty.
  • AT&T Wireless v. Federal Insurance Company – Represent plaintiff AT&T Wireless in multimillion dollar insurance coverage dispute.
  • Smith v. Teletech – Defense of telecommunications company against putative class action alleging wage and hour claims.
  • Smith v. Alaska Airlines – Defense of airline against age discrimination and retaliation claims.  Case dismissed on summary judgment.
  • Labor Ready v. Welstad – Defense of former executives against breach of contract claims arising from noncompetition agreement.  Summary judgment obtained on some claims, remaining claims settled on terms favorable to clients.
