Corr Cronin Michelson Baumgardner & Preece is a trial law firm that handles cases across the Pacific Northwest. From its office in Seattle, the firm has been engaged in disputes in Washington, Oregon, Alaska and Idaho. Clients include Microsoft, Bechtel Corporation, Boston Scientific, Amazon.com, Nextel and Qwest.

The firm has handled a significant amount of aviation litigation and arbitration. Corr Cronin is prosecuting a case on behalf of plaintiff Alaska Airlines, which is seeking to compel the union to arbitrate a matter regarding the outsourcing of ramping and baggage work. At this stage of the litigation, the defendant’s preliminary injunction has been denied. The firm has also represented Alaska Airlines in arbitration involving union grievances.

In August 2008, Corr Cronin successfully obtained dismissal of a personal injury suit against client Akzo Nobel filed by an employee claiming injuries as a result of exposure to solvents at the defendant’s distribution center. Corr Cronin saw the case through two years of discovery and motion practice, including a successful Frye motion to preclude the plaintiff’s experts from testifying as to causation. After plaintiff’s final settlement offer of $19 million was rejected, a motion to dismiss the claims was entered by the court.

Kevin Baumgardner has tried case in state and federal court in Washington and Alaska. He has also handled labor arbitrations, administrative trials, and matters brought before international sports law tribunals.
